Strengthening cruise, ferry links can make area a leading destination in Asean, says expert

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 — Selangor’s tourism sector is expected to receive a new boost when the Piano Land cruise ship from China will dock permanently (home port) at the Port Klang Cruise Terminal (PKCT) starting the fourth quarter of this year.

LABUAN, Sept 26 — The Transport Ministry will establish a Cruise Council to advance the cruise industry in Malaysia, a move expected to significantly enhance the nation’s tourism sector.

PUTRAJAYA, July 29 — The government is set to develop and enhance the infrastructure at existing ports to make Malaysia a “homeport” for cruise ships, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
